September 17 - 20, 2008 Dr. Ernest McNear of True Gospel Tabernacle sponsored "Fugitive Safe Surrender"

This ambitious effort attempted to lower the current state of outstanding warrants in the city of Philadelphia which is about 70,000. From September 17 - 20, 2008 if you were wanted for a non-violent crime in the city and have no history of violence you received favorable consideration for your surrender and were likely to go home the same day.

Approx. 1300 people turned themselves in to make the event a success.
